Laser Resurfacing

- Laser Skin Resurfacing -

Skin resurfacing is a process of removing layers of facial skin and allowing new skin to form. This process smoothes the skin and improves the wrinkles.

This process can be performed by applying a chemical solution (a chemical peel) or the energy from a laser (laser resurfacing) to the skin. Resurfacing can be performed along with another facial surgery or it can be performed as an isolated procedure.

This is normally performed with local anesthesia in the office. It generally takes about one and one half hours for the full face resurfacing.  We use the Erbium laser to reduce redness and promote a speedy recovery so you can get back to your normal activities sooner.

Make-up can generally be worn in seven to ten days butshould be worn over sun screen lotion to avoid hyper-pigmentation or darkening of the skin.
