Lip Enlargement/ Reduction
-Lip Surgery (reduction or enhancement) -
Lip reduction, for overly large lips, is performed by removing excess tissue through incisions placed on the inside of the lips.
This can be performed under local anesthesia or with IV sedation anesthesia.
Lip enlargement can be performed through several different techniques. Fat may be harvested from other parts of the body and injected as well. Some of this fat is eventually lost, but some results can be long lasting.
A variety of implant materials can also be used to augment the lips. AlloDerm™ (a product derived from human skin) has been used for this purpose, and the results appear promising. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia or with IV sedation anesthesia.
Lip enlargement can also be performed easily by injecting with Restylane or Juvederm in the office. Collagen can be injected, but its effect is temporary.
We are constantly evaluating other newer materials in our desire for the most natural and longest lasting results.
