Rhinoplasty (Nose Reshaping) -

One of the most dramatic ways to improve facial harmony is to reshape the nose, which is achieved through a procedure called “Rhinoplasty.”

This procedure can also enhance the functional ability of the nose when internal nasal deformities impair breathing or cause sinus problems. During a standard Rhinoplasty, the nasal bones, cartilage, and soft tissues are reshaped to improve the external contour of the nose.

In most cases the incisions are placed inside the nose. However, in certain circumstances, a small incision is placed in the skin between the nostrils (the columella) or in the creases below the nostrils. In either case, scars are typically inconspicuous.

Rhinoplasty is performed under IV sedation and local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The surgery normally takes approximately one half to two hours. Most patients return to work within a week
